I'm happy to say we live in a nice neighbourhood, surrounded by families and retired couples
Not much goes on around here, kids play outside, people walk their dogs, the odd horse rider goes past the window And then I moved in! The weirdo who does gorilla movements up and down the street Who scared off some Jehovah's witnesses (unintentionally) with my screaming and grunting during a particularly tough workout in my garage gym But now the think I am just plain crazy Why? Well on Saturday night, my step counter was at 9400 600 off my target (my watch flashes and vibrates when I hit 10,000 which i kinda like) So I got off the sofa and started to pace up and down the living room! The next door neighbour was loading up his car and saw my and waved ^^^This was about 100 steps in, 500 to go He then preceded to see my walk up to the window every few seconds for the next 5 minutes with an incredibly confused look on his face! Thankfully my watch gave me the tell tale buzz and I could stop I had hit my target! I have done this 3 or 4 times now! Obsessed? Maybe I like to look at it though as I have a target, I get rewarded for hitting it My little bar on the app goes green too! I hate the amber or red line! And it gets me doing a bit more activity than I would have done normally Every little helps! Are you targetting yourself? Are you sticking to your targets? If not, why not? Have you set them too high? Is other stuff (life) getting in the way? It all comes down to planning (and being a little SMARTER) with what you set yourself! if you have a goal, but have no targets each day and week, there is NO way you will get there! It's just too random and unpredictable a journey without a map! Get planning, get targetting, get yourself on the path to success!

I target myself to do 10,000 steps a day!
It keeps my active, even on days when I am not exercising (yep I do have rest days) Yesterday I had a rest day and realised I had no incentive to get outside! ^^^^The sun was shining but I had a heap of work to do on the laptop (And annoyingly laptop screens are only made to be used INDOORS! So frustrating!) I looked at my tracker and i had done 935 steps and it was 1pm! I had hardly moved! When a friend of mine posted on Facebook that her 7 year old was bored There was my opportunity Hit up a message 'Can I borrow you child for an hour to go to the park and play football?' The reply came back 'Gladly, yes' So out we went into the sun, me and Jack and a football and played. Before long my tracker had shot up to 6000! Why am I telling you this? Nope, not so you all go out and become unpaid babysitters But daily activity is key to health and fat loss! In fact research shows it is more important than exercising 3 times a week in 1. getting rid of the fat and 2. keeping it off 12 months later! Our lives are so sedentary now that we need to make time just to move! Especially if we want to be healthy and fat free! Tomorrow I'll tell you about how I got my steps up to 10,000 ^^^^And why my neighbours think i'm weird! ![]() So tonight I headed out to drop some fliers to let my neighbours know about my awesome fat burning female fitness class! Had a little 2 hour walk around the estate ^^^Would have been quicker had i not stopped to stroke every cat and high 5 the kids It was so nice to so many children playing outdoors! A couple of them asked me why I had one earphone in and one out I made some joke about being able to hear when kids are naughty and she started singing "in out in out you shake it all about" and that's when I ended up doing a quick turn around for the hokey cokey! <<They joined in thankfully! Anyway, I looked at my fitbit tracker to see how many steps I had done in the 2 hours 12,000 and burned over 1000 calories! Now I wasn't power walking or anything like that just a nice strolling in the Bury sunshine while it's out And I was way over my calorie burn for today You see walking is a great for of activity It burns calories But more importantly Is it the ONLY form of exercise that doesn't raise stress hormones (unless you have a Power Plate to hand-that doesn't either) And it doesn't cause you to be hungry later on either! Sometimes going for a walk is MUCH more effective in burning fat than going to the gym again! I am currently putting together a stubborn fat loss programme it will last for 3 months and give you all the tools you need to melt away fat burning FOREVER! Walking is a major part of this plan! Keep your eyes out as the first ten people that join the plan will get a discount on the launch! Dean 'Loves the outdoors, cats and is good with kids' Zweck |
