In the last 15 years of being in the fitness industry i have seen many training methods come and go! You name it I have done it (except Zumba, my hips, hands and feet are NOT designed for all the wiggling!) I would go to a huge fitness convention or take part on a course and learn a new product or method of training and i couldn't wait to show my clients! Getting back to work on Monday all my clients would get kettlebells, or ViPR or German Volume Training (putting the words German, Volume and Training in the same phrase conjures up fear in me, and rightly so!) Some of my clients loved the new stuff, some didn't! In fact some actively hated it and refused to do it! Which baffled me at the time. This amazing new piece of kit that was fun and effective4, and they didn't want to do it! I had made a fundental error and stupid assumption! Not everyone likes the same thing! Fitness Industry leaders PTA Global have developed a questionnaitre which assesses your "style", in other words the type of exercise you would prefer or benefit most from to achieve your goal. Here is part of the questionnaire Answer the questions with PROGRESSIVE or TRADITIONAL as the answer and count up your totals for each. Each you got more than 5 of a particular answer that is your STYLE, If you got a mixture, your style is HYBRID I got 4 Progressive's and 3 Traditional's so I am a HYBRID style. So what does all this mean? Your style dictates the type of training you will most likely enjoy. A progressive person might like to use barbells, a progressive person a balloon. The traditional person likes structure and doing the same routine each week seeing improvements. The progressive exercises loves variety and enjoys constant change! Once you know this, I can help you by giving you a workout more suited to your style! Have a look at this video from PTA Global and see which exercise takes your fancy!
